 Headzone® PRO wins the Innovation Award 2007
A further success for Headzone® PRO: The Professional Lighing and Sound Association (PLASA) has announced the 5.1 monitoring headphone system as one of the recipients for the coveted Innovation Awards presented at the PLASA Show 2007 in London. 65 products from 10 different countries were entered this year, and covered a broad range of lighting, audio, rigging and staging, AV, effects, software and accessories - amply reflecting the industry's diversity and global nature. Headzone® PRO convinced the judge with its high degree of innovation and engineering excellence. Headzone® PRO is the first mobile headphone system in the world with virtual 5.1 playback for professional monitoring. Thanks to “Binaural Environment Modelling” technology and patented ultrasonic headtracking, Headzone® enables realistic surround sound reproduction with conventional stereo headphones. Using the ultrasonic headtracker, the system permanently detects the position of the listener’s head and adapts the source audio playback accordingly; as in a real environment, the virtual loudspeakers or sound sources are located in front of, beside or behind of the listener, depending on how he moves his head. In other words, they are in a fixed position in the monitoring room. With Headzone® you can easily create, save and access the sound characteristics of a loudspeaker system (up to 5.1) at any time. The parameters that affect sound in a real room can be adjusted interactively: the position of the loudspeakers in the room, the distance of the loudspeakers from the listener, the size and the acoustic qualities of the room.
