DT 48

The best reference for our headphones and headsets is the world-wide use by broadcast corporations and recording studios. You can find them in use by moderators, reporters and cameramen at big sport or media events all over the globe, like for example at the Olympic Games. The modular and rugged construction fills all professionals with enthusiasm.

Archetype and basis of all hi-fi stereo headphones is the DT 48. In 1937 nobody, however, knew that this headphone was suitable for hi-fi applications. Therefore, Eugen Beyer called the DT 48 not headphone, but "Dynamic Telephone", which is abbreviated as "DT". It was in 1950 at the first public demonstration of an artificial head that the DT 48 demonstrated its skills and it proved to be the world's first hi-fi stereo headphone. An acoustic sensation with a 13 years' delay. To date a modified version of the DT 48 is still in production and one of the most popular professional headphones throughout the world.
